JN#28 What do you hate most about using technology in class?

Most of the time I hate using the computer. Sometimes I don't know how to use some of the information. I get confused but instead of asking for help I just don't do it. There is a lot of information to learn and that is a good thing about it that I like. I have to use it for school most of the time and sometimes I get tired of it. The only time I like to use the computer is when I need to look up some jobs, games or any other thing that does'nt have to do with school. Computers to me is one thing about technology I don't like working with. One day I will enjoy using it hopefully. Maybe one day I can become a pro at using computers but right now I get to practice using it.

JN#27 What is the one piece of technology you enjoy using?

I like to use my phone a lot. I enjoy using that because I like to talk to my friends when we need to talk about things. When it comes to my best friend I can stay on the phone for hours because we always have so much to talk about. I always have my phone with me incase of emergencies or just incase someone is looking for me they can just call. I also like texting jokes to friends through my phone. When I don't want to talk I could always text. Having games to play on when I'm bored is always cool to. My phone is the best technology I enjoy using the most when it comes to talking with friends.

Today is kind of stressing because I have a lot of homework to this week. I have a reasearch paper for Psychology and a take home exam for Criminal justice. The reasearch paper isn't due til couple more weeks but my exam paper is due on wednesday. I know pretty much almost all of the information but I still need to look for some answers in the book which is not easy to do sometimes. I hate school sometimes because I get too much homework. i hate doing homework but in order for me to get somewhere in life is to get all the education that I can. I just don't like to be stressing when it comes to school even though school can be fun to.

I am feeling very sick today. I am here in school because I don't want to get so behind in my classes. I should go to the doctors but I am to scared to even walk in a doctors office. That is one of my weak spots to go to the doctor to get a check up. My mom is always after me about not going to the doctor. I am the only one in my family that gets sick a lot. Don't know why but I do. I only do when I get to the point where I can't eat or move. Maybe one day I'll have the nerve to get a check up at the doctors office. I also hope I feel better for the next couple of the days that I am in school.

My best friend is getting married pretty soon on Nov. 19th. I am so happy for her but at the same time sad. Happy because she is getting married to a good person and sad because she is leaving the state. She is moving to San Francisco to start her new life with her loving husband. I will miss her very much but I know she'll be there in my heart. She is the only best friend that I have and to hear from her that she is leaving the state breaks my heart. I love my friend but life goes on. I will absolutely visit her but it won't be the same. We both were always at the mall or always doing something together like having fun at the parties. We would be at the clubs or just hanging out at her house. I will miss my best friend Garland Ortiz very very much. I'll always keep in touch even though were far apart but now I won't have her here when I need a shoulder to lean on. I hope the best for her cause I love her very much I just hoped she'd stay in this state.

JN#23 What would you do if someone got in front of you when you were in line at the movies?

If someone were to get in front of me in line at the movies I would politely tell the person that I was the next person in line. It would'nt be fair for us having to wait so long in line and for someone to get in front of me. It would'nt be fair for the other people that were in back of me aswell. If the person didn't care and tried to make a scene or something then I would let it go. I wouldn't want to make a big deal out of it but make a point to the person that there was a line to begin with. But it still would't be fair, its just how people are nowadays and thats not right.

JN#24 What would you do if you ordered an ice cream cone and you forgot to bring money?

I would be very much embarrassed. To tell you the truth I have no idea what I would do. Maybe I would tell the person to give the ice cream cone to someone else or I would ask my friend to borrow some money if i were to be with somebody. I might also tell the person If I could run to my car or wherever to get the money like an I owe you. That would be horrible if it were to happen to me. I would probably just panic and leave without saying a word to the ice cream person. Thats what I would probably do. How sad huh.

JN#22 Have you ever been discriminated against?When?How?

I went shopping at the chandler mall for a prom dress one time and this lady at the store I decided to look in was very rude. She was the cashier but she was following me wherever I went. She was in back of me everytime I would look back. She probably thought that I was going to steal something but all I wanted to do was find a cute dress for prom. I think the lady was races against colored people or something. She didn't say hi to us or ask if we needed any help finding something. I said hi but I got nothing in return but a wierd look. I figured maybe she was having a bad day. I just didn't like the fact that she was following me. I was not the only one in the store eithier. Ever since that day I have'nt gone shopping there. To top it off that was not the only store where I felt akward. I don't like to go to the chandler mall anymore.

What would you do if you woke up in another country and no one could understand you? I would be very fraustrated. I would probably start crying if no one could understand what I would be trying to say. I see some people that struggle to communicate with others every day. It is very difficult for me to answer this question if I were to be in this situation. I would try to write what I'm trying to say on a piece of paper or just try to do sign language. I would feel like no one cared about me.

What would you do if you saw little bugs in your salad? I'm not the type of person that would scream when it comes to bugs, but bugs in my salad. I would get goosebumps and prabably would'nt eat for days. If this came from a fast food place I will sue the company for every dime they have. Nobody should ever experience this because it is disgusting. That is an awful thing to see especially in your salad. Bugs don't scare me but when it comes to my food, I like to eat healthy and bugs aren't healthy at all.

What would happen if animals could talk? What are some of the questions you would ask them? I think it would be weird to hear animals talk and at the same time it would be good. Wierd because if you say something like " how scary this animal looks" the animal can attack you. They would say some thing back. It's like saying that to a human being and them responding you with a fight. Then we will know exactly how the animal really feels. I might ask an animal what they would do if they lived like us. I would ask them how ugly we look to them.

What would happen if there was no television? Why would this be good or bad? I there was no television I think the world would go nuts. Nobody would know what is actually going on. No news no nothing. Television helps us in everyway its like our source. It might be good in some ways too. The ones that are always inside stuck to the t.v. might actually go out and do something for a change. Meeting new people or even getting some work done around the house. Also, having a quality time with family.

I can type whatever today. Let me tell you about what I think my major will be. I think I want to become a cop. I want to help the people in my community. Where I'm from there is a lot of drugs and alcholics. Kids getting into gangs and not having no one to guide them. I want to put a stop to all of that. I want to put the bad guys away in jail that are hurting our people. Thats gonna be a lot of work but no one says its gonna be easy. I want to become a cop to help others.

What would happen if you would become invisible whenever you wanted to? What are some of the things you could do that you cannot do now? What I would do is sneak into the theaters and watch all the movies I haven't seen. No body would know nothing but I have to make sure that nobody sits on me. That is one main thing that I would actually do. I would sneak in to the grammy awards to see all the famous movie star and singers. They would'nt know if I paid to get in. I would go to all the hip-hop concerts and many more. It would be exciting to be invisible.

What is something that really bugs you? To tell you the truth, my brother really bugs me. I feel bad for saying that, but he really does. I think he likes to bug me on purpose though. He's only twelve, but yet we don't get along very well. I try to be nice to him but he ends up saying something negative. I think he just takes his anger out on me because of his father not being there. He always says something bad about my dad. He probably just misses his dad but he doesn't know how show his feelings. Maybe one day we'll get along pretty good, but right now he bugs. One day when things change at home and he won't bug me as much.

What would you do if you could fly whenever you wanted to? When will you use this ability? Instead of driving through traffic and leaving thirty minutes early to get there on time, it would better easier to fly. I would want to fly over the grand canyon If was able to. The best thing I would want to fly over would be a place where they have waterfalls. I would fly all over the country to explore the world. I would only use this ability to get places faster and to explore the world. Flying would make things easier in many ways.

What is your favorite book and why? My favorite book would be Bless Me Ultima. That book relates to my culture in many ways. It talks about cuaranderas which are people that can heal others with their powers. There are many scary things out their in the world, and there are people that can make things better. This book is about curing people and scarying the evil from coming to your home.

Well I guess I could tell you anything today. Well let me tell you about my 3 month year old baby sister. Her name is Leilani. My 17 year old sister and me were there at the hospital when my mom was giving birth. After what I've seen that night I will never ever want kids. Well my sister is pretty, chunky and very laughable. She has owl eyes and long chubby feet. Two of her bottom teeth are already out. pretty soon she'll be biting people. She was a surprise baby, and she changed every single person in our family. She brings the happiness to our family. She is also the baby of 14 grandchilren. We love her very much and will always be there for her. Everyone says she has three mothers and one brother. My mom, sister, and me are the ones with her all the time. My twelve year old brother likes to help out when he can aswell. That's cool.

What Is the best advice you ever recieved? My uncle ,who is like my dad,gave me the best advice. I used to have friends that were bad influence on me, and I did pretty much what they did in school. I would ditch my classes, be mean to other kids, and never paid attention in class. I was pretty much one of the bad kids in junior high. My grades were D's and F's. my friends and I thought that was cool, but when I got home my parents were very upset. My uncle told me that friends come and go but when your in trouble the family is the one that saves you. some friends want you to succeed and some want you to become bumbs. He told me to stay in school, because with more education you will become something much more. Through high school my so called friends didn't really talk to me because I tried to do the best I could. I stopped hanging around them and met some new friends. Through out the school year three of whom I used to kick it with had a baby, two others dropped out, and bout three got into drugs and alcohol. Out of all of them I was the only one that graduted and the only one going to school as of now. My uncle was right. My family was the one that stuck with me.

What Is your favorite song and why? My favorite song is Lean On Me. Every word in that song has a meaning to me. It reminds me of my friend when they are in need of some help. They know that when they come to me they have a shoulder to lean on and a friend they can count on. When I'm having problems I go to my best friend for help or advice. Everybody needs a shoulder to lean when it comes to hard times. Even though you don't know the person, it is good to show caring before they go out and do something the will regret.

What is one difficulty you faced while coming to school at SMCC. One thing is I need to face the fact that I need to do things on my own rather then to have others do it for me. I realized that this isn't high school anymore. I have to face the real world. For me that is a scary thing. There is a lot of things that I don't understand, but if I ask I guess I t won't hurt. That is one thing I have a problem with, not asking for help when I don't understand something. Facing the real world is one hard challenge for me, but I think I can manage.

Something I noticed about myself today is that I am gainning weight. I tried putting on a pair of jeans and it just would'nt zip up. I was so mad because that was my favorite pair of jeans. That wasn't the only pair that didn't fit either. I tried maybe like two other ones and the same thing happened. It wouldn't zip up. I got the habit of eating out at fast food with friends all the time. I should stop before I gain even more. What I desperalty need to do now is exercise more, so that I can get in better shape. Then, maybe I wouldn't have to by new clothes.

Something I noticed about myself today was that my hair grew a couple of inches. I went to a salon at the begining of this year in January to get my hair layered. I wanted medium layers, but I guess she heard sort layers. She cut my hair too short up to my shoulders, when my hair was half way from my back. I was so mad that I didn't pay the full amount and left. When I was combing my hair this morning I found out my hair grew because it was taking me forever to do my hair. When before I didn't have to do nothing to it cause their was nothing much for me to do.

What do you like to do when you are bored? What I like to do when I am bored is that I like to listen to music. My favorite style of music is merengue and salsa. I don't really know how to dance, but I love the way everything sounds. Although, I like to listen to pretty much everything. Hip Hop I love to dance because it makes you go wild sometimes. Another thing that I like to do when I am bored is I like to clean my house. Ilike to have the house clean at all times, but when you have younger sibblings living there it is hard for it to stay clean. Ialso like to play the violin when I have nothing to do. I just practice for the heck of it to get a little better at it. Those are some things that I like to do when I am bored.

Who is your Hero? Well my hero is my mom. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be here. She is raising four kids on her own. She was the one that got me through high school, and I was the first to graduate in my family. If I stay in school I will be the first to have all of the education I will need later on. My mom has always been there for her kids. Not one time do I remember her saying that she couldn't do something for us. I love my mom with all my heart , but what is hard for me to say to her are those words. I guess because we didn't say it ,but she knows how we feel about her. She's done everything a mother could do for her kids, so that is why my mom is my hero.

Who are you? Tell me something about you,What you like to do and what you are all about? Hi, my name is Erica, who is Native American, and does not like school. If I don't go to school then who knows what I'll be in the future. I am the oldest of two sisters and a brother. I'm suppose to be their role model, so thats why I come to school. Well one thing I like to do is I like to play the violin. Maybe one day I can play with a mariachi group. I love the way mariachis sound. I'm also a person that likes to just go somewhere where this peace and quiet, like the park. Well, I guess I'm a pretty calm person who does not like school, and that likes to prove to there family that I can graduate from college one day.

If you could give any gift in the world, what would you give and to whom?
I would give the world a big hug. I would thanks the world for everything it gave us. This might be a crazy world, but at least I have some place to stay. If we don't care of the world like we should, who knows what can happen in the future. Only if the world fit on my tiny hand so that I could give it a nice big hug
